oh my effing goodness you have GOT to be kidding me!!
AMS block party's main band is THE ROOTS?!?
WTF!!! is this like, get-all-the-people-vania-has-been-waiting-to-see-for-the-longest-time-and-make-them-go-to-vancouver-when-she's-not-there year?! jabba, sytycd peeps, actually a whole bunch of concerts but COME ON THE ROOTS?! AT THE END OF THE YEAR WHERE I WOULD BE DRUNK AS HELL?! they are only like my favourite rap group/band thing! AND they're late night with jimmy fallon's house band now and i was freakin out about how cool that would be. and now GAHD!!!
at LEAST i saw radiohead before i left. that is my one consolation.
but seriously?! i hope they like the roots so much that they invite them next year too!!! i doubt it though...this is like, the first headliner since matthew good where i actually cared a LOT about who was headlining the damn thing!!! stupid drunken idiots better not throw shoes at them! they are so cool...BLERGH!!!!!

oh my goodness...today was the first day i actually went to a supermarket in Norwich.
i should've done so AGES Ago!!! I can't believe i've only been shopping at tesco
they have like everything at Morrison's! AND everything i got today was 1 pound or less (other than cereal...)
but there was a deal for roast chicken for only 3 pounds! WTF!! i am gonna be needing to go there way more from now on! its super sweet!!
i've wasted half my time here, when morrisons has a wayyy better selection of fruits and veggies, and basically more of everything and their own bread, deli, butcher shop, ready-made food, etc! bigger selection of everything!
i bought a baguette, and freakin the english call them "french sticks" or at least thats what it was called when i bought it. tastes NOTHING like a baguette!!! but its alright i guess. like 75 p and huge

okay, that's really all i needed to say for now...hahaha

SO guess what!!

My sister was looking for bands that were playing in Norwich for me, and what do you know? TRAVIS is playing on October 3, 2008 (TONIGHT!!)
I went on the website to see how much they were, but they were sold out =( but i kept refreshing, and one day, more tickets were supplied!! I quickly went to get a ticket of course...
Get this: they have a new album just released on Sept30 I think, in the UK
so perfect!

AND they're playing on my uni campus!!! WTF!!!
it was 18.50...and so intimate omg i'm so excited!~!
i went to the venue just now...and they set up all the amps and mic and equipment! sarah, they had those orange amps like we saw the first time! they just had a tape going around, so you couldn't enter, but you can totally see people setting up and shiz!! ...hmmm...maybe i could go see them do soundcheck...!!!
but i dont know when that will be and it was raining cats and dogs. i need to take a shower!!

but it was amazing. there were all these cases with TRAVIS on it and omg so excited!!! I'm gonna take many pictures if I am allowed to. doors are at 730 but i'm gonna try to get there at 7. yes i am a loser. but its mothereffing travis.
that is all. i just wanted to share my excitement of travis. and i think it has been shared.

So I slept pretty late last night...almost 4 and I was gonna go to the library early to check it out and figure out how to use the facilities...but i woke up and just kept pressing snooze...and lazed around...and youtubed...

Science Frosh. One word, EPIC! FUCK YEAH!
I loved the event, the spirit and especially the people. I'm kind of sad that I probably won't see them again because there are few events that purposely brings us together! Hopefully, SUS will put on more dances (thought they aren't always CRAZY good) and other awesome events.
My froshees were really nice and had a lot of spirit, which is always a plus.

During our scavenger hunt, which ran from campus all the way to Robson, we serenaded couples with the song " A Whole New world", drank a nasty blend, frog hopped along a sidewalk and danced to Kanye infront of HMV. Too fun for words, but feet, calves and thighs were definitely numb.

A couple highlights from it: During the frog leap, this froshee guy in my group was leaping over me and I think he didn't leap far enough, so he landed on my head, which pushed myself foward and headbutted this girl in the behind. I also had these mock Kanye shutter shades on my head which was painful to hit on.
When we were at HMV, we also had to ask for donations for cystic fibrosis. We were around the corner where the intersection was and this homeless guy on a wheelchair rolled up to us and was like " Get off, go away!!". Kind of mean, but I totally see where he was coming from.

When we got back, we wanted to get smashed before the cruise. Well, the group leaders at least. We were in the pit pub when a couple of them pansied out because they said that they get red when they drink. The drinking had to be a secret because we WERE suppose to be leaders for our froshees. So, the plan was scratched and postponed...yes. I guess I'll be seeing them all during THAT reunion!

After our dinner and loading of our bus, we headed off to our boat cruise!!! Definitely highlight of the day! There were deserts, but not enough >:( The dance floor was PACKED with wild dogs. Not literally. It was hot and sweaty and we were definitely high on love. haha. It was probably one of the best dance parties I have ever been too. Not to mention, there was no alcohol involved! Great music ( a lot of them were NOT top 40s). epic <3<3<3<3

After coming back from the cruise, we all left our own ways....and off I was to see jordan on his birthday. I was half an hour past his real bday, but it's the thought that counts!

i kept it flat in that juice bag that i got at the show and kept it in a safe place but it was moved and BENT!!!

Here is a tip I learned from my coworker Shaun. If you are sick, or are coming down with the flu, take a vitamin C every hour until you get diarrhea. The number of vitamin C's you took minus one is the daily intake your body can take. and just keep pounding that number. The diarrhea will help release the toxins anyways though on the first try to test out your body.

Also I heard that oregano oil underneath your tongue works as well.

I participated in a fundraising car wash today (for the China Relief Fund) from 11-4 and I am so impressed because it was a HUGE sucess. During the 5 hours, we washed 133 ish cars and raised around $6000!!! I wasn't the one doing the cash, so I'm not sure HOW MUCH each person paid, but apparently some paid 40,50 and even A HUNDRED dollars when minimum was just $10!!! There sure are some GENEROUS people out there. It was super fun and it felt like it was a constant rush because we had around 6 cars to wash at a time, and cars kept coming in and needing to wait or come back. There were 2 firetrucks too, but I have no clue why they were there. They kinda just hung around and socialized and let the little kids fool around with their truck. It was adorable. There was this kid who was telling the firemen, "I know why firemen have hats! It is because you will burn your head" He was such a big mouth kid, but so cuteeee. btw, firemen are HOYTE.

so uh...i totally overanticipated my skills as a writer during crunch time. i was supposed to have finished my english paper by thursday morning so i would have all of thursday to write my anthropology.
did not finish
until 2 30 in the morning of friday

had to write so quickly that i did not even proofread either of my works

deadline for anth paper was at 3. theres this crazy mofo date stamper in the ANSO building with the time. it was 2:56 on my paper. and i frickin forgot to write my prof's name. fk!! then i wrote it in with black pen. and i was gonna write my section number and i put a big 0 next to the date instead and i didnt have whiteout so i just left it without writing section number.
utterly screwed

i didnt even have a conclusion!

and i bought two energy drinks last night to drink
apparently you should only have one can per day...
before i got to class i chugged maybe a quarter of a can in the car.
and in class..my heart started beating irregularly fast. it was quite scary!
and i just kept sneezing and sneezing and sneezing
i hope i'm not getting sick. but i see it coming. premonition!

anyways, so i'm here till 5 in the afternoon cuz thats when my sister gets off.
don't have anything to do. hungry.
but we're going out for dinner for my sis/bro's bdays tonight so musn't spoil the appetite!
hmm...maybe i can make a really ghetto birthday card for my sister right now...

i am feeling friend-deprived. HAHA.
I haven't seen any of you guys for the longest time! Not even an "Accidental" meeting! I havent really seen the guys either, aside from Ryan. I don't even see him as much as i do anymore, but it's still okay. I havent been going to my cvc meetings for week (s). Its been the 4th meeting i've missed! I've been taking that little one and half hour to study for whatever! Ahhh! I'm going to stab someone, but then there's no one to stab, but Ryan. LOL Guess what i'm doing right now? At the Ladha center, STUDYING, and eating a salad, my all time favourite dish. I swear, im slowly becoming a vegetarian. The only real meat i eat is chicken and seafood. Seafood, i don't think i can live without, so that doesn't count. But even chicken, I consume like 4 small cubes of it each day or something. Some days, i even go without chicken! I dont think im getting enough nutrient. Gotta buy some iron tablets or something. I feel great though. I think i'm going to try to stay like this. And maybe one day, i can be a full fledge veggie with Sarah. I'm super close, i'm not even going to lie. Im not even doing this intentionally! I just much rather choose a salad over a steak on restaurant menus. I much rather eat half the plate of cooked mushrooms, carrots, lettuce at home than have deep fried chicken, WHICH i must admit is the most tempting thing ever. (pushes that thought away)

it was pretty good i guess. if it wasn't at the pne forum it woulda been a lot better though. that place is shit for sound.
and the supposed to be opening band got held up at the border (voxtrot) so this other kinda crappy band (the elizabeths) started at 8. and it seemed like they would never end.

but finally they came out
point form for now!
-i thought they hated us
-->ppl threw a sweater or sth on stage, hit his mic stand and it fell on him (but he wasn't singing yet it was the intro to a song
-->they didn't stop between songs

but then the first stop they took, i couldn't understand what he was saying!
but afterwards it got a lot better

-they played songs consecutively and then stopped for a bit, took a break, said something or just started another song
-they were a lot more shy than i expected
-->the lighting was not really on them, for the 1st song they were completely in shadow with the lights behind them
-->even after, it was really dark and you couldn't see their faces TOO clearly but just light enough that you could see them (usually the ppl love big spotlights)
-->a lot of the time the audience would be lit up
-there was a weird toy controlled airplane that flew around for a while
-no encore

cute things he said that were pretty..actually (very) british (he didn't speak very much):
-how are you up in the rafters? that gentleman looks like hes having a good time (paraphrase)
-you guys were..pleasant and then i forgot what he said..but it was really nice (we were the last place in this tour set and i really wish i had gotten it..it was really cute and was the longest he talked for)
-(in the middle of leave before the lights come on) (with a hand on his hip) the confetti can come now (it never did)
-(beginning where i couldn't understand what he was saying but i think he was explaining this was their last leg of the tour and then) vancouver, we'll have some fun!
-lets have some fun (i think this was before dancing shoes..?)
-we'll play you a new song..you deserve it
-(guy with laser pointer pointing at his shirt) he's got a laser pen. i didn't know you could get those anymore
